What We Work On

The daily stuff that's exhausting everyone.

Most parents I work with aren't dealing with one problem. They're dealing with six of them at the same time -- the morning routine, homework, screens, emotional explosions, the same conversation for the hundredth time. We start wherever the pain is highest.

About Jordan
Jordan Schatz, ADHD coach

Jordan Schatz, LMHC-LP

I'm a licensed mental health counselor and ADHD coach based in Brooklyn. I've spent the past several years working with kids, teens, parents, and adults with ADHD, and I built this practice because I saw a gap between what families were being told and what actually works.

I was that kid. I know what it feels like from the inside, and I know what actually moves the needle from the outside.

What Parents Say

Real words from real families.

My son and I really enjoyed working with Jordan. He was able to help us work together and set up systems and consequences to manage time management challenges that come along with ADHD. My son has grown in his independence and confidence.

Courtney H. — parent

We learned so much from Jordan. He has helped us create peace in a house with a 10-year-old boy with ADHD. The tools and strategies were not overnight, and we still have more to learn, but I can honestly say -- if you follow the steps -- you can find more peace. We will always be in touch as our kiddo grows and we need more guidance.

Nancy B. — parent

Jordan was excellent to work with both for my son and as a resource to us as parents. Jordan is easy to talk to and breaks down ADHD so you can understand what your child is going through and how you need to react as a parent. I highly recommend Jordan for newly diagnosed ADHD and for transitions. Jordan has a great personality and energy that anyone would love to learn from.

Questions

Before you reach out.

Do you work with the child directly or with parents?
I work directly with children and teens ages 10 and up. For younger children, I work with parents -- because you're the one in the room for every transition, every homework session, every meltdown. Parent coaching often produces the fastest results. We can talk through what makes the most sense for your family on the intro call.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapy is designed to treat mental health conditions and process emotional patterns. Coaching is forward-focused and skill-building -- we work on systems and strategies for right now. I do both, which means I can recognize when something needs a different approach and help you navigate that. Read the full breakdown here.
Is this covered by insurance?
Coaching is not covered by insurance. My therapy practice at jordanschatz.work accepts out-of-network benefits, but does not take in-network insurance.
Do you work virtually or in person?
All coaching sessions are virtual, so I can work with families anywhere.
